Description
Summary:Bandung is one of the cities with a dense population in West Java. This population density also affects the number of people with social welfare problems (called PMKS) in Bandung, including abandoned and street children. The city government itself has attempted to provide assistance and empowerment through public facilities in the form of a regional implementation unit, specifically, Bandung Social Welfare Centre (called Puskesos). Since the PMKS, who become users of these facilities, are often the same individual, cultural intervention is needed, one is through its design. Following sustainable design aspects in the future, this research uses Socio-interior theory as the approach. This is in line with the main study of the theory which focuses on cultural identity and the interactions of the room users themselves so that users' social relations and psychological conditions are very likely to be influenced. This design aims to know how to implement social sustainability aspect in interior design and to create Bandung’s Puskesos that could accommodate and intervene its user’s behaviour and habits in micro scale according to social sustainability principles to further improve these street children’s welfare.
