With this potential, many domestic and foreign tourists come to enjoy the culture. Many aspects can be enjoyed and learned, such as Tongkonan or traditional houses to traditional rituals, vernacular architecture, cultural landscapes, social communities, agriculture, etc. In community life, Tongkonan, which is a tourism icon of Toraja, is not just a house, but has a traditional function within it. The development of Tongkonan area into a tourism village provides many benefits, not only introducing the uniqueness of Toraja culture, but also becoming an additional source of income that supports the economy of the local community. Some Tongkonan (its area) has been developed into a tourism village. However, the development has not been maximized due to many limitations such as the lack of planning of the tourism village itself. The development of the tourism village only follows the pre-existing pattern and is constrained by the different landscape of each Tongkonan area, which greatly affects the settlement pattern of the Tongkonan area. The Tongkonan to be developed in this study is Tongkonan Sa'pang located in Lembang Kaero, Tana Toraja. This study aims to assess the cultural landscape of Tongkonan Sa'pang as part of the development of an indigenous tourism village. From the results of the study, an area masterplan will be made, so that the development of the tourism village will be in accordance with the potential owned and maximally utilized, and tourist visitors and readers (research) can capture a clear picture of the culture and landscape stories presented. The method used in this study is the method from La-Gro which relates to the planning stages of a landscape project. Using a cultural landscape conservation approach is also a consideration to fit the context of an area rich in cultural and landscape values in it. It is hoped that the resulting planning can serve as a guide for the development of other indigenous tourism villages in Indonesia. text
