ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TIDAL SEA WATER FOR WATER QUALITY AND POLLUTANT LOAD CAPACITY IN THE CITUMANG RIVER, PANGANDARAN REGENCY

Rivers are a source of water for life and livelihoods inseparable from human existence. However, rivers can become a form of disaster when the quality of the river is poor. However, rivers can become a form of disaster when the quality of the river is poor. The Citumang River is one of the best tourist attractions for body rafting activities. Human activities, including body rafting, can contribute organic pollutant loads to the river. However, the tidal relationship at the mouth of the Citumang River affects the water parameters, meaning not all parameters can be used to determine river water quality and pollutant load capacity. Pearson correlation was used to identify key parameters for determining the water quality of the Citumang River. Salinity, i.e., the salt content in the water, was used as the dependent variable. The correlation values obtained were Conductivity (0.999) and TDS (0.999), which were thus excluded from determining river water quality and pollutant load capacity. The pollution index in the Citumang River is in good condition and slightly polluted at the sampling locations. The determination of pollution carrying capacity was conducted using Class II river water quality standards across all sampling locations in the Citumang River. Scenarios were established using QUAL2Kw, including the existing conditions, maximum pollution load, and compliance with Class II river water quality standards. The best recommendation provided involves the implementation of vegetative buffer zones to reduce the pollutant load generated from land use around the Citumang River. text
