Description
Summary:Global warming has become a concerning climate crisis, prompting IPCC to aim at limiting temperature increase to below 1.5ºC. As a non-dairy creamer production industry, PT X engages in activities that generate greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), leading to the urgency of GHG emissions inventory and the formulation of strategies to achieve carbon neutrality. The greenhouse gas emissions inventory will be conducted following the GHG Protocol and IPCC 2006 guidelines, while the carbon neutrality strategy formulation will adhere to The Carbon Neutral Protocol. The emission sources at PT X include stationary combustion (14,660.93 tCO?e), coal combustion (18,153 tCO?e), mobile combustion (62.34 tCO?e), and electricity purchase (1,565.05 tCO?e), totaling at 34,441.626 tCO?e. To achieve carbon neutrality, the approaches will include increasing biodiesel content, implementing co-firing with palm shells, installing rooftop solar panels, transitioning the electricity supply to wind and solar power, applying CCS technology, and carbon sequestration using biochar. Three carbon neutrality scenarios are designed according to the company’s level of financial commitment. The minimum scenario achieves 11.02% carbon neutrality, the moderate scenario achieves 26.59%, and the maximum scenario meets the 100% target.
