Based on the name, we know that high-speed train is a train with a high maximum speed, above 200 km/h. Therefore, high-speed train must uses light materials in order to conserve energy. The problem is that light materials generally have a high level of flexibility. Thus, we can no longer use a perfectly rigid object in modeling the train carbody to do a dynamic analysis of high-speed train. This report will carry out the dynamic simulation to determine the differences in vibration responses that occur in rigid and flexible train carbody as a result of excitation from track irregularities. Flexible carbody modeling will be done using the finite element method by using ANSYS Mechanical software and the model will be integrated to the multibody sistem software using Universal Mechanism (UM) with the file format that have been modified first based on the requirements that requested by UM to do the dynamic simulation. The FFT results showed that flexible carbody has the most peak at frequency around 10 Hz while there is no peak at this frequency on the rigid carbody, hence there is a high excitation with vertical bending mode shape on the flexible carbody. text
