Flooding in Sungai Palas occurs due to high rainfall and the influence of tidal effects from the Siak River. To address this issue, an analysis was conducted as part of a final project. The analysis involved hydrological assessment using Microsoft Excel and hydraulic analysis using HEC-RAS software. The one-dimensional modeling included river cross-sections, flood heights, and simulations of proposed flood control structures. The modeling process began with an assessment of the existing conditions and then explored various solution scenarios, including normalization, normalization with embankments, and normalization with retention ponds. After considering effectiveness, feasibility, and cost, the chosen solution involved normalization combined with embankments. The estimated total cost for implementing this solution is IDR 10,574,430,624. By implementing normalization and embankments, it is hoped that this approach will mitigate flooding issues caused by overflow from Sungai Palas. text
