Description
Summary:This study aims to analyze the mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of Fe-skarn deposits in Pelaihari, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan, using microscopy and geochemical analysis methods. The study area is divided into two zones: endoskarn and exoskarn, differentiated based on their proximity to magmatic intrusions. Microscopic observations were conducted on thin and polished sections, while geochemical analysis utilized ICP-MS and XRF data. The results indicate that the exoskarn zone contains higher Fe concentrations compared to the endoskarn zone, with the skarn deposits in the study area classified as calcic iron skarn. This research provides significant insights into the distribution of minerals and geochemical conditions in the endoskarn and exoskarn zones and has the potential to serve as a reference in mineral resource exploration, particularly in identifying zones with the highest Fe concentrations in the region.
