Summary: | Cities around the world have lost their identity, including Lubuklinggau City. People have
become too lazy to do boring routines every day without a break, they just go around their
homes and workplaces until they have to think about where to go to carry their burdens after
going through their daily lives in the city where they live, there is no third choice. Potentially
beautiful areas are not utilized, empty land is built into shophouses, gathering places that are
a little refreshing are not arranged to benefit the community with payments in advance, at the
end, and everywhere, the arrangement is not arranged until chaos is scattered in every corner.
In urban areas of developed countries, humans are provided with space to improve their quality
of life, free of charge, without partitions, without walls, becoming a comfortable place to be
able to increase their passion to carry out their daily routines. People can gather without
having to think about their background, -everyone is equal-, in that space they can let go of all
'personality lies', discuss political views and romance, talk about anything they want within the
norms of society, all done because they have the right and deserve to get the space they need,
that is what is called public space, the third space.
Lubuklinggau City has a train station that also has a great history in connecting urban
civilization in Indonesia, but now the existence of the station is not utilized properly, perhaps
because the government and the community do not realize how valuable the 'Marble Stone'
they have, which is buried deep inside. The Placemaking approach with the attributes of
Accessible and Linkages, Comfort and Image, Uses and Activities, and Sociability is
considered suitable to be adapted in an effort to compile a historic public space plan in
Lubuklinggau City.
This research will examine in general one of the efforts to restore the image of the area and
improve the quality of life of the community in the form of a design plan for the Lubuklinggau
City station area into an appropriate city public space. |
