Description
Summary:The development of maritime infrastructure is a crucial element in supporting industrial activities in Indonesia. PT Sumber Tani Agung is undertaking the construction of a jetty with a capacity of 50,000 DWT Tanker as an oil loading facility in Dumai, Riau. This project involves various components, such as trestle, mooring dolphin, breasting dolphin, platform, and catwalk. The main challenge in its implementation is delayed completion. Therefore, this study examines the application of project management systems to overcome these obstacles. The research aims to analyze the planning and execution of the jetty project and identify the factors contributing to the timely completion of the project. In addition, this study recommends project management solutions that can be used to address challenges and improve project efficiency. The study was conducted using qualitative and quantitative methods, utilizing data obtained from the contracting company, PT Cemerlang Samudra Kontrindo. A research flow diagram was used to illustrate the stages in project implementation, including mobilization, measurement, piling, and concreting. The results show that the use of project management systems, such as effective scheduling, quality control, and time monitoring, greatly affects the smooth running of the project. The S- Curve was used to monitor project progress, which indicated some deviations between the plan and actual execution due to delays in material supply and weather conditions. The use of stakeout and positioning technology ensured that piling was carried out according to the specified coordinates. However, certain challenges, such as the mismatch in material ordering schedules, need to be addressed to avoid further delays. This study concludes that the implementation of a good project management system can reduce the risk of delays and ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget. Recommendations for improvements include enhancing coordination between the project team and vendors, as well as employing more efficient technology in logistics management.
