Quality improvement as an effort to improve quality of products and services depend on many factors. One of the important factors in improving quality is quality awareness. An effort supporting quality awareness has to be made by leadership, because quality awareness for long-term survival of an organization is not a factor that can emerge by itself. This factor needs support and motivation to grow and the leader hold this role. The purpose of this research is trying to know the influence of leadership style supporting quality awareness. Leadership types discussed in this research are transactional-transfromational, path-goal, visionary, and knowledge leadership. From these four types of leadership yield 12 attributes. This research was done by distribution of questionnaires, to the three companies which are still active in manufacturing. The questionnaire is a measurement to be used in finding out respondent's preference about quality awareness and behaviors of their leader. Data processing techniques in this research are validity-reliability analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regressions. The result of validity-reliability analysis and factor analysis is only seven attributes that supporting quality awareness from 12 attributes. End result of the research is obtained through data analyzed by multiple regression method. Through these multi regression analysis, the seven attributes assumed to be capable to build quality awareness, in fact only two that are succeded in developing its. These two are creativity motivator and orientation of learning. text
