Description
Summary:Identification of conducted emission noise (CE Noise) in electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) supported by an off-grid photovoltaic (PV) system has been successfully performed. The description of EVCS system quality supported by an off-grid PV system and electric motor charger related to its suitability to the electromagnetic environment is obtained by comparing CE Noise measurement results on the DC side and AC side against the limit in standard. DC Line Impedance Stabilization Network (DC-LISN) device is used as a noise receiver from an inverter, which is forwarded to Spectrum Analyzer (SpA) measuring instrument, which also acts as noise damper from DC voltage source so that it does not interfere with the measurement result. AC Line Impedance Stabilization Network (AC-LISN) device is used as noise receiver from the electric motor charger, which is forwarded to Spectrum Analyzer (SpA) measuring instrument which also acts as noise damper from AC voltage source so that it does not interfere with the measurement result. The current probe device is used as a CE Noise measuring instrument for differential mode (DM Noise) and common mode (CM Noise) types from an electric motor charger. CE Noise measurement conditioning is based on the CISPR 25:2016 standard in the 150 kHz - 30 MHz frequency range. The characteristics of CE Noise on the DC side are compared with the IEC 62920:2017 standard, and the characteristics of CE Noise on the AC side are compared with the CISPR 14-1:2020 standard. CE Noise, CM Noise, and DM Noise measurements are carried out in three conditions: EV Battery, Motor Off, and Motor Standby. CE Noise, CM Noise, and DM Noise on the DC side of the EVCS supported by the Off-grid PV system tend to exceed the IEC 62920:2017 standard, especially in Motor Standby conditions. On the AC side, CE Noise, CM Noise, and DM Noise exceed the CISPR 14-1:2020 standard in certain frequency ranges. CM Noise and DM Noise on the AC side that exceed the standard are successfully reduced significantly using the ? filter, although some noise peaks still exceed the CISPR 14-1:2020 standard at certain frequency ranges. Meanwhile, CE Noise on the AC side that exceeds the standard is successfully reduced completely to below the limits of the CISPR 14-1:2020 standard.
