Description
Summary:The improvement of people’s awareness about the good healthcare makes research demand in healthcare increasing. Blood supply chain has played an important role in the healthcare area. Hence, managing the blood supply chain itself became a challenge. Moreover, the problems occurred in developing countries and develop countries are different. The availability of blood bags is critical factors in serving demands of blood bags in Bandung. Even though the number of donor is growing in Bandung, there is still some shortage happened because of the demand from hospital is also increasing each year. The uncertain supply of blood makes donors, as a supplier, have a huge impact in the blood supply chain. Considering this fact, understanding donors’ behavior, people willingness to donate blood, and the blood supply chain become important. Therefore, the approach used by these research in modeling the blood supply chain is a combined of two method: agent-based modeling and system dynamics. Agent-based modeling become the most suited method because a more microscopic approach is needed. Agents assumed to have their own intention in blood donation. This intention mainly caused by attitude towards the blood donation act, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norms. A blood supply chain model of Palang Merah Indonesia Bandung regional city will be simulated using system dynamics. System dynamics was chosen because it can represent the structure of the complex system. Questionnaire was used to see the factors that affecting people willingness to donate blood in Bandung, and to develop scenarios that will be used in the simulation. The data collected then analyzed by using simple multiple linear regression, to see whether there is a relationship between the factors given and the willingness to donate blood. By analyzing each scenario from the model, we can see that scenario 6 gives the best alternative regarding the blood supply chain; increasing media promotion for socialization, improving the blood center facility, cut the inefficient procedure in blood donation so the total time expended in blood center can be lessen. Conclude that it is important to invest in promotion and improve the quality of the blood center.
