Changes in land use in the Cikapundung Sub-Watershed can affect the river's water quality. This study was conducted to determine the water quality status and spatial distribution of 12 physicochemical-microbiological parameters in the upstream segment of the Cikapundung River, which passes through the Ir. H. Djuanda Forest Park area. Water sampling was carried out at five monitoring points from August to September 2024. The river water quality status was determined using the IP and NSF WQI methods, followed by Pearson correlation coefficient analysis to illustrate the relationships between each parameter and the main pollution sources in the upstream Cikapundung River. The results showed spatial variations across the five monitoring points. Significant increases in concentrations were observed at point E (downstream) for parameter nitrate (2.40 mg/L), total phosphate (1.28 mg/L), fecal coliform (240,000 MPN/100 mL), and total coliform (350,000 MPN/100 mL). The IP values categorized the water as heavily polluted at points B and E, and moderately polluted at points A, C, and D, based on the Class I water quality standards regulated in Government Regulation Number 22/2021, while the water quality status was classified as moderate at all five points according to the NSF WQI method. Strong correlations were found among parameters such as temperature, turbidity, TDS, TSS, DO, BOD, nitrate, total phosphate, fecal coliform, and total coliform. text
