FAULT SEAL ANALYSIS ON SERIBU FAULT BLOCK AT INTERVAL OF TALANGAKAR DELTAIC FORMATION IN NWC FIELD COMPLEX, SUNDA BASIN
The NWC Field Complex (North West Corner) is one of the main contributors to oil and gas production in the PHE ONWJ area. This field first started production in 1986 and reached peak oil production in 1991, then since 2006 this field has been idle until now. This has been affected to oil production...

This has been affected to oil production in PHE ONWJ to decrease, currently the production forecast continues to decline so a recovery plan is needed such as revisiting subsurface data in the NWC complex to review the potential of areas that have not been properly explored, especially in the downthrown block of the Seribu fault. The research was conducted on Seribu Fault which is one of the main faults in the NWC field complex. This fault are located from north to south with a length of approximately + 30 km. The throw of this fault reaches a maximum of 7800 feet in the middle and then relatively narrows towards the fault tip. in the north and south. Geologically, this NWC area has a fairly complex and compartmentalized structure as a result of the tectonic activity that occurs around the Southeast Asian plate. To determine fault seal analysis of Seribu Fault Block, the focus of this research is to carry out an analysis using the static calculation method of shale gouge ratio (SGR). The SGR value interval on the Seribu fault is between 5 – 94%. From the evaluation using static reservoir pressure data, it was found that the SGR value was 40% (0.40) for the boundary of the fault to leak with a maximum and minimum capillary pressure are in a range between ± 380 psi. This research also show evidence of differences in hydrocarbon accumulation caused by the Seribu fault such as the juxtaposition between the formations influenced by the fault throw and the shale volume. The main factor which control of fault seal analysis on seribu fault block is the shale volume (Vcl) than fault throw so that this factor can be used as a reference to evaluate the petroleum system in this NWC area in the future. text |
