THE FORMULATION OF OPERATION STRATEGY IN PT. XYZ

ABSTRACT: <br /> <p>At the beginning, survey and mapping industrial sector might not get attention from various service industries of contractions even its still include on the civil society. But, with the emerging cases related to land dispute and unutilized lands in some potential area and also uncertified land, now days this work field becomes more required. This issue problems is not mentions the government development program which require pre project testament cause existence of industrial sector service of this constructions more and more confessed. Therefore, since year 1999, The Constructions Company Certifier Institutions (INKINDO) issuing a statement about the existence of this survey and mapping industry with the issuing of UU. No. 18 year 1999. Even this industry existence come above from surface since 1999, but PT. XYZ has committed since year 1977 in focusing in survey and mapping industrial sector. <br /> <p>And in this time, PT. XYZ has become one of leader in this service industry. Although PT. XYZ has become leader in this service industry, this company facing the problem concerning of small profit margin obtain from every projects has been taking. <br /> <p>This issue can be seen from company ROA that show even the omzet value from projects is quite high but the Return value is below the expected value compare with competitor and average industry. This problem haunting PT. XYZ since 2000. One of business strategy has being done by PT. XYZ to handle this problem, is to increase operation cost efficiency. <br /> <p>Therefore, the concept of Operation Strategy is precise to achieve the company goal to increase the profit margin. <br /> <p>There are two kind of Operation Strategy concept to discuss in this final project, First, the Operation Strategy concept from Fitzsimmons and Sullivan which concern in Service Operation Strategy with the Service-Package Method and Open-View of Service Operation, the second is Operation Strategy concept from Slack and Lewis which concern in Manufacture Operation Strategy with Matrix Operation Strategy. <br /> <p>In using these concepts, the Operation Strategy decisions must be taking by PT. XYZ to achieve the Performance Objectives which demanded by the clients are to increase the company performance especially in tenderization process, increase the capital ability performance, increase skill and work field ability and increasing in the ability of the company in case of projects work flow which can be seen in capacity planning, work force skill, quality control, and production capacity.
