Indonesia is one of the fastest urbanizing countries in the world. Limited area and open space in urban kampung are challenges faced in urban kampung. In addition, social, economic, and cultural changes require people to adapt, both in the private space (homes) and the public open space they have. Community interventions in adapting within the scope of urban design are called tactical urbanism. In developing a good public open space in the urban kampung, it is necessary to study the identification of tactical urbanism and livability level in public open space in order to guide the urban kampung in mapping public open space with all its limitations. In the process, this study was conducted using a mixed method of qualitative and quantitative. The quantitative method was carried out through the calculation of livability level using space syntax and AHP then combined with qualitative methods in the form of in-depth interviews at the study site. The results of this study show that the basic intervention of tactical urbanism produces a typology of field space, road corridors, and parks/gardens. The highest livability level of public open space is in the field and road corridor. Guidelines for mapping public open space in urban villages must meet the criteria of activity, identity, security, comfort, accessibility, and social participation. Improving the quality of public open spaces in urban kampung must prioritize aspects of security, social participation, and accessibility. text
