Description
Summary:Education can help Children with Special Needs to develop their talents and potential. Therefore, inclusive education that is tailored to the needs of children with special needs is needed to explore talents and potentials to train independence. This media is designed to find out what kind of interaction can help the teaching and learning process of students with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities to improve their understanding of color. The method used is Participatory Design and Participatory Action Research where the teacher and students are the participants. This method starts from identification, data collection, trial and evaluation, prototyping, collaboration, revision, implementation and finally follow-up evaluation. Through this design, it is hoped that it can be a stimulus medium to improve the fine psychomotor skills of students with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities through the introduction of rainbow colors. Activities carried out through this activity book are like recognizing colors one by one without any other colors so that the focus is not distracted. Next, the process of color recognition by spelling the name of the color according to the color listed. Followed by bolding the letters according to color to train fine psychomotor skills by writing. The next activity is to pair the image with color. Finally, color grouping is carried out according to shape and color. This process is carried out repeatedly for 3 consecutive days to observe and understand the colors around you through the colors found in the rainbow. Through these activities, students with mild intellectual disabilities can recognize colors and remember the color sequence on the rainbow to identify the colors around them. Through this activity, students with moderate intellectual disabilities can recognize and identify the surrounding colors through rainbow colors with repetition and guidance from teachers.
