It is important to adopt sustainable development principles to ensure a sustainable drinking water supply facility in a community. This study conducted a multi-criteria sustainability analysis of the water supply facility at the Al-Idrisiyyah Islamic Boarding School Complex, aimed at developing effective sustainability strategies. The study employs a combined AHP-PROMETHEE method, incorporating 24 criteria across five dimensions of sustainability: economic and business, social, institutional, technological, and environmental. The data collected consisted of quantitative and qualitative data obtained through questionnaires and interviews. This study analyzed three alternative drinking water supply facilities at the Al-Idrisiyyah Islamic Boarding School: bottled drinking water, drinking water station, and drinking water depot. The priority sub-criteria for the sustainability of non-piped drinking water supply facilities in the Al-Idrisiyyah Islamic Boarding School is a structured organization, compliance with drinking water quality standards, and health impacts. Meanwhile, the sub-criteria that are less prioritized include marketing strategies, the availability of spare parts, and the quantity of raw water. The analysis carried out using Visual PROMETHEE revealed the following rankings for sustainability strategies : (1) refill drinking water depots, (2) refill drinking water stations, and (3) bottled drinking water. Economic and business criteria, particularly water price and business model innovation, positively contribute to the sustainability of the drinking water depot. In contrast, environmental criteria, especially health impacts, negatively affect their sustainability. Environmental criteria—particularly health impacts- for drinking water station—positively influence sustainability. However, in terms of technology, reliability negatively impacts the sustainability of this facility. Regarding bottled drinking water facility, economic and business criteria, particularly problemsolution fit, positively contribute to sustainability, while water price has a negative impact. This indicates that the factors affecting the sustainability of drinking water facilities vary depending on the type of facility. Therefore, sustainability strategies should be tailored to the specific characteristics of each facility. To ensure the sustainability of non-piped drinking water supply facilities in the Al-Idrisiyyah Islamic Boarding School, Tasikmalaya Regency, it is essential to consider subcriteria that are sensitive to weight changes. These sub-criteria include water price, business model innovation, marketing strategy, problem-solution fit, availability of policies and regulations, management quality, technology reliability, maintenance, environmental impact, and health impact. text |
