Description
Summary:The high use of private vehicles in Bandung City causes traffic congestion, although public transportation is available but the level of use is still low. This study aims to analyze the selection of transportation modes based on three generations of productive age, namely Generation X, Y, and Z, in order to formulate policies that encourage the use of public transportation. The methods used include factor analysis to evaluate respondents' perceptions and multinomial logit model to analyze mode selection preferences, with alternatives including private car, private motorcycle, angkot, BRT, online ojek, and online taxi. The results show that private motorcycles are the top choice across all generations, while Generation X has a higher tendency to choose BRT than other generations. Factors such as accessibility, cost, convenience, safety, and service quality affect perceptions, while travel costs, travel time, vehicle ownership, and socio-demographic factors affect mode choice preferences. To increase the use of public transportation, it is necessary to improve the accessibility and efficiency of services as well as campaigns that encourage people to switch to public transportation
