Misool Island, one of the four largest islands in Raja Ampat, is located south of the district capital with fairly limited access. The extraordinary potential of Raja Ampat, especially Misool, lies in its marine and mangrove natural beauty, which, if managed wisely, can contribute to the welfare of local people while maintaining sustainability. One way to improve the welfare of the community is by managing village-based tourism destinations. This study aims to (1) Analyze the classification and tourism potential around Gamta and Magey Villages, Misool, Raja Ampat, (2) Analyze the role of stakeholders in tourism management around the village, (3) Determine and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of internal and external factors in developing the tourism village, and (4) Formulate development strategies for Gamta and Magey tourism villages, Misool, Raja Ampat. The classification and tourism potential were obtained from focus group discussions with the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in Gamta and Magey Villages, Misool, and interviews with local people. The role of stakeholders was mapped based on the level of interest and influence, and analyzed the involvement of villagers in tourism. In addition, the internal and external factor matrix (IFAS and EFAS) was formulated based on the biophysical potential of tourism and stakeholders using the results of observations and data analysis in this study. Furthermore, strategies were formulated using the SWOT-QSPM method. The results of the identification of tourism potential in Gamta and Magey Villages include fishing tourism, Malol Waterfall, traditional cuisine, handicrafts, diving, mangrove forests, village traditions and culture, and bird watching. Based on observations and assessments, the development of tourism villages is towards emerging tourism villages with a value of 2.75 out of a total value of 4. From the results of interviews, 72.95% of the 24 people had active involvement in terms of knowledge about world-famous Raja Ampat tourism and experience of involvement in tourism activities. Five key players were identified: Raja Ampat Tourism Office, Raja Ampat Development Planning Agency, Gamta Village Pokdarwis, Magey Village Pokdarwis, and university (ITB), as well as one subject, namely private partners (Lalelkai Nature Lodge) in the development of tourism villages in Gamta and Magey Villages. The identified internal factors have a value of 2.95 (average) and external factors have a value of 3.59 (high), which means that based on this assessment, the strategy built is a grow and build strategy, in line with the conditions of the tourism village in Gamta and Magey Villages which are still in the early or initiation stage. The development strategies for sustainable tourism villages in Gamta and Magey Villages include 1) Introducing Gamta and Magey tourism villages through social media, 2) Training and mentoring the Gamta and Magey Village Pokdarwis related to ecosystem protection and natural tourist attractions, 3) Collaboration among actors in developing tourism villages, 4) Training on the development of tourism products for local people, 5) Mentoring Gamta and Magey Pokdarwis to be independent in managing tourism villages, 6) Involving all village communities in tourism development, 7) Developing tourism based on local wisdom, and 8) Creating diversified tourism packages according to the local season. text
