This study explores strategic approaches for revitalizing Songket Minangkabau by addressing the differing responses of local communities in two regions: Pandai Sikek and Lintau. Employing a qualitative, case-study-based methodology, the research examines societal reactions to design interventions to ensure cultural preservation while adapting to modern relevance. For Pandai Sikek, which prioritizes cultural exclusivity, a documentation strategy is proposed, integrating traditional revitalization principles and photogrammetry to comprehensively preserve cultural artifacts. In Lintau, which embraces innovation but faces exploitation risks, the study recommends product diversification and the establishment of a catalyst institution to restructure stakeholder dynamics and prevent exploitation. The research highlights the necessity of tailored strategies to balance cultural preservation and modernization, providing broader implications for craft development in other regions.
