Description
Summary:people, yet the maintenance of locomotive radio devices still relies on manual methods that are time-consuming and inefficient. In this context, Internet of Things (IoT) technology emerges as a modern solution for real-time monitoring of radio devices, enhancing operational efficiency and system safety. This research aims to design an IoT system capable of monitoring locomotive radio devices, including voltage, current, power transmission, Standing Wave Ratio (SWR), and location, in real-time. The system utilizes an Arduino Mega 2560 Pro module to read sensor data from ACS712 and a Raspberry Pi 4 to process the data into JSON format. The processed data is then stored in the cloud, enabling remote access from various locations and platforms. The system also features an alert mechanism using an LED indicator that activates in the event of abnormal voltage or current conditions. Testing was conducted to evaluate the system’s reliability and efficiency, including measurements of data transmission latency, analysis of abnormality detection functions, and evaluation of hardware and maintenance costs. The results show that the system operates reliably with an average data transmission latency of 5.97 ms. The implementation of IoT in this system provides significant benefits, such as reducing response times to device malfunctions and lowering operational costs by minimizing the need for on-site technicians. By digitizing data through IoT, railway operators can manage radio devices more effectively and efficiently, enhancing travel safety while paving the way for developing similar monitoring systems for other applications in the railway sector.
