This performance determined mainly by pureness, crystals structure, and chemical composition of Zeolites. <br /> <br /> <br /> ZSM-5 (Zeolite Socony Moil-5) is a type of synthetic Zeolite that used in various industry processes. This Zeolite has three dimensional frame structures, has high selectivity and activity in various reactions, very selective to molecular shape and hard to dcactivated. Indonesia has abundance natural Zeolite with high enough pureness (55-85%), and even they have higher pureness then best Zeolite of Japan (55-77%). Natural Zeolites of Malang have highest pureness and, therefore, they have a good prospect to converted become synthetic one such as ZSM-5. <br /> <br /> <br /> This research has performed as a realization of a desire to study conversion of natural Zeolite become ZSM-5 (by addition of Silica compounds to increase its Si/Al ratio). This research performed to study effect on Crystallite of ZSM-5 Product caused by various Si/Al ratio (20-60), TPAISiO2 (0.0250; 0.0500; 0.0658; 0.0816), source of silicate additive (Waterglas, Aerosil, Calcined Silica) and reaction time (10, 24, 48 hours). <br /> <br /> <br /> The process performed within an autoclave at 1?5 degree C and autogenous (10 bar) pressure and driver speed of 400 rpm. Composition and structure of product analyzed with spectrophotometer of Atomic Absorbed (SSA) and x-ray defractometer MD). <br /> <br /> <br /> This research indicates that highest crystallization of ZSM-5 product (94.20%) achieved from process that used Si/Al 31.95 and TPA/SiO2 0.0816 within 24 hours of reaction time. Type of the best additive silicate compound to increase Si/Al ratio is Calcined Silicate. text |
