Description
Summary:This research focuses on the optimization of Public Electricity Supply Stations (PESS) through the Electrifying Lifestyle Area (ELSA) approach, which aims to increase the use of electrical energy and reduce the use of diesel generators by street vendors. ELSA was introduced to encourage people, especially street vendors and businesses, to switch to environmentally friendly electrical appliances such as induction cookers, electric carts, and electric vehicles. This study was conducted at Tugu Keris Siginjai in Jambi City by combining qualitative and quantitative methods, including analysis of the strategic location of PESS, simulation of the application of Solar Power Plant in easy and low cost PESS using PVsyst software, and evaluation of the feasibility of PESS and Solar Power Plant investments. The results show an increase in energy sold in 2023 of 20,248 kWh with revenue of Rp. 33,298,241, compared to the previous year with energy sold of 4,140 kWh and revenue of Rp. 6,807,491. In addition to providing economic benefits for PT PLN, the strategic placement of PESS in the Tugu Keris Siginjai area is considered capable of supporting MSMEs to switch to electric equipment, as well as providing safe and environmentally friendly access to electricity for the community. The evaluation of investment feasibility includes three main scenarios, namely PESS with the concept of easy and low cost, standing type PESS, and integration of Hybrid Solar Power Plant in PESS. The PESS scenario with the concept of easy and low cost results in the lowest cost of production (COP), positive NPV value, PI more than 1, and faster payback. Scenarios that implement Hybrid Solar Power Plant in PESS can be an option to integrate renewable energy in improving the reliability of electricity supply for street vendors and other users. This research supports PT PLN's vision in assisting the government's target in creating Green Smart Jambi City. In addition, this research emphasizes the importance of education for the community and street vendors to improve understanding and use of electrical equipment, along with the collaboration of other stakeholders can ensure the successful implementation of the ELSA-based PESS program.
