DEVELOPMENT OF IN-BAND FULL-DUPLEX (IBFD) ANTENNA USING FILTERING ANTENNA

In-band full-duplex (IBFD) communication is a rapidly developing technology, but it is susceptible to interference. One practical approach to overcome interference in IBFD systems is to use the Self Interference Cancellation (SIC) technique. This research proposes the use of a microstrip antenna wit...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/87621 In-band full-duplex (IBFD) communication is a rapidly developing technology, but it is susceptible to interference. One practical approach to overcome interference in IBFD systems is to use the Self Interference Cancellation (SIC) technique. This research proposes the use of a microstrip antenna with a 180° hybrid coupler as the SIC and proximity coupling at a frequency of 2.4 GHz with the addition of a filtering antenna. The purpose of this study is to improve signal isolation and filtering of unwanted frequencies. Tests were conducted to compare the performance between antennas that use filters and those that do not use filters at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The test results show that antennas with filters have a higher isolation coefficient than antennas without filters. The use of filters has been shown to be effective in suppressing unwanted frequencies, improving signal isolation, and optimizing the performance of the IBFD system. These results highlight the importance of applying advanced antenna design techniques in optimizing the performance of wireless communication systems. text
