INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/87654 Climate change is a global issue that involves all stakeholders and has been specifically addressed in the Paris Agreement, which outlines efforts and commitments by all countries to reduce emissions and limit global temperature rise. PT. PLN (Persero), a state-owned electricity company, plays a crucial role in controlling carbon emissions. One of PLN’s initiatives to reduce carbon emissions is by increasing the share of renewable energy sources (RES) in the energy mix, including collaborating with other companies to develop solar power plants (PLTS) in Indonesia. Through its subsidiaries, PLN has also begun selling rooftop solar PV systems for residential use. While this technology may not be new to individuals with prior knowledge or experience, it may raise questions among the general public regarding the adoption of rooftop solar PV technology in Indonesia. This thesis aims to compare the acceptance of rooftop solar PV systems between the general public and employees of PT. PLN (Persero) in Indonesia. By analyzing the differences in the acceptance models of these two respondent groups, this study identifies the key influencing variables. A total of 179 public respondents and 187 PLN employees participated in this research. The study is based on an extended model of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), incorporating 12 latent variables and 43 indicators. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares- Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that the factors influencing the acceptance of rooftop solar PV systems among the general public are perception of rooftop solar PV, perceived economic benefits, perceived incentive policies, and subjective norms. In contrast, for PLN employees, subjective norms were not a significant factor, whereas perceived environmental benefits played a crucial role in the acceptance of rooftop solar PV systems. text
