The Trans Sumatra Toll Road project, covering the provinces of Aceh to Lampung, faces various challenges, including the improvement of soft soil. In the Pematang Panggang – Kayu Agung section, the soft subgrade soil causes significant settlement despite improvements using the PVD + Vacuum method. Therefore, this study proposes the Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) method as an alternative soil improvement. The DSM method involves mixing the original soil with binding agents such as cement or lime to enhance the soil's bearing capacity and stability. This study uses limit equilibrium analysis with the help of Geostudio Slope/W software to evaluate the effectiveness of the DSM method. The results show that the DSM method is effective in increasing the slope safety factor and reducing soil settlement. The analysis was conducted by comparing the results from the Morgenstern-Price, Janbu, and Bishop methods. The results indicate that the DSM method provides a significant increase in the slope safety factor compared to conditions without improvement. This study concludes that the DSM method is an effective and efficient solution for soft soil improvement in road infrastructure projects text
