However, 81.8% of all energy consumed in 2022 comes from unrenewable sources that are scarce and also emits large volumes of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. More application of renewable energy technology is needed, one of them being wind energy using wind turbines, as well as public awareness, information, and support of the technology. Danfoss, a manufacturing company in Denmark plans to install a micro scale horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) with a mechanical pitch control mechanisms for visitors to interact with while teaching the intricacies of wind energy engineering in their science park subsidiary, Universe, in Nordborg, Denmark. A push rod driven pitch regulation mechanism is then designed, which is observed able to transmit the onset of stall at speeds 10 m/s at a 10° angle of attack and beyond through HAWC2 simulation. Further simulation using ANSYS Fluent Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software finds that stall could reach up to 6 N between angles of attack of 65°-90°, exceeding HAWC2 simulation results. text
