Currently, Bandung's GOS proportion only reaches 12.47%, which negatively impacts the environment, including rising temperatures, declining air quality, and increased flood risk. Gedebage District, identified as a priority area for development under the Bandung City Spatial Plan (RTRW) 2022–2042, has the potential to be developed into an integrated area with social and ecological facilities of citywide significance. However, this area lacks sufficient public GOS to support social activities and address flooding issues caused by its location as the lowest plain in the Bandung Basin. This study aims to design a public GOS in the form of a city parks and urban forest in Gedebage, taking into account the principles of normative design. The research employed primary data collection methods (observation and interviews) and secondary data sources (planning documents, journals, and relevant literature). The analysis involved qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods, internal and external site analysis, fragmental methods, and division by aspect. The design was based on the normative design principles, identification of site potential and problems, and a conceptual framework emphasizing public space criteria: sustainability, social interaction, educational value, aesthetics, and connectivity. The results showed that 80% of the Gedebage public GOS area was allocated for ecological elements, such as green spaces with diverse vegetation, reservoir, and water infiltration zones to control flooding. The remaining 20% was allocated for circulation and social facilities, including sports fields, playgrounds, amphitheaters, plazas, and food courts. The sustainability concept was implemented through the use of environmentally friendly materials, vertical garden architecture, and porous surface designs to enhance water absorption. Furthermore, the area was designed to support various social activities, such as sports, recreation, and education, aiming to improve the quality of life for Bandung residents. text
