Description
Summary:Background: Fatigue is a common symptom that happens on athletes from every sport discipline. In gliding, the most common fatigue complaints from athletes are located on back and lower back muscle. Unfortunately, there is no research about that. The purpose of this study is to figure out where is the location of fatigue spot on gliding athletes, and also to create a physical training program to overcome that fatigue spot. Method: This study uses 13 gliding athletes of Jakarta as subject to involve in the research procedure which is Anthropometry measurements, Nordic Body Map (NBM) test, simulator test, likert scale test, and muscle endurance training program. Result: This study shows that the most fatigue spot that happens in subjects are located in back and lower back muscle, as the Nordic Body Map results. The muscle endurance training program that researcher made and being done by subject for 1 month (16 sessions) also give an improvement on subject’s muscle endurance on back and lower back with (p-value 0,01 < 0,05). In percentage it shows that the improvement is 42,86%. Conclusion: The data shown from this study proved that the most fatigue spot in gliding athletes located in back and lower back muscle. Also, the physical training program has improved athlete’s muscle endurance in back and lower back.
