Abstract: Business on power plant operation and maintenance is a downstream industry and growing as an impact of power generation development. This development is in line with increasing demand of power supply to support economy development in a region. Total installed capacity of power plant in Indonesia (excluding owned and managed by PT Indonesia Power and PT PJB ) is about 18.909 MW and will require approximately 1,5 million man-hours per year to do best performance of power plant operation and maintenance (O&M) activity. Power plant operation and maintenance services industry is indeed requiring eligible human resources with related skill and competence according to market demands. These various demands are in type, manufacturers, brands.and services as well. The need for efficiency in global era has driven power companies and big companies that own power generation to entrust operation and maintenance Services Company. PT PJB Services established as a part of organization restructurization of PT PJB, is designed and aimed at taking part into the service competition and reach this valuable opportunity, PT PJB as one of companies that owns and manages various type of power plant (Steam PP, Combine Cycle PP, Gas PP, Hydro Electric PP, Diesel PP) in Java and Sulawesi with total installed capacity 6.510,99 MW generated from 72 plants scattered in areas and 29 brands, takes the benefits of their experiences in power plant operation and maintenance as a key tool in winning the opportunity. Therefore, it is necessary to well manage this excellence and build an appropriate strategy to face the world challenge and high competition by reviewing the internal and external corporate aspect. Business strategy proposed for PT PJB Services is that firstly strengthening company core competence and foundation to prepare sustainable and strong competitive capabillity. The generic strategy for the company is to focus in differentiation aimed to building perception of the customers about leading product of the PT PJB Services that still in correlation with concentric product (concentric diversification), Their qualified product is especially defferent from other power companies. Meanwhile, strategy for market growing is that of market development, market penetration supported by backward and forward integration
