Aceh tsunami at the end of year 2004, shows us how terrify it destroys the cities. Padang is one of the high possible city of tsunami attack, becouse it is located at earthquate zone, spread out in coast area and low level elevation with flat landscape. The high density population and built up area that are spread out as long as the shoreline, make this area as high risk city toward the tsunami disaster. According to that condition, it is required to map out the inundation areas, and safe areas as evacuation zones. This study results most of Padang built up area to be the high risk zone toward the tsunami disaster. The evacuation to safe zone depends on west-east roads as evacuation mutes. The successful of evacuation, that is measured from interval time to safe zones, muchly deponds on the roads capacity and the possibility of traffict jam. This study result, then, is compared with spatial urban plan and road development program. It shows that the development plans do not refer to the tsunami disaster yet. text |
