Description
Summary:There are several methods used to analyze possible environmental impacts of industrial processes. The expert systems model used in the research employs combination of Leopold and Sorensen method of impact assessment. The Warner-Preston study was utilized to examine the validity of the methods. Warner-Preston study contains four main criteria, these are impact identification, impact measurement, impact interpretation, and impact communication. The validity of each criteria is determined by assessing responses to the questions developed from the criteria. The implementation of the study into the computer program is performed by creating schemes within the framework of the expert systems on impact assessment of a cement industry. The result is that the additional Warner-Preston study would allow users to get reports on scores of each aspect of the impact analysis. The reports would help the environmental impact assessor to determine accuracy of the entire impact study.
