Frozen culture of Plasmodium falciparum 2300 chloroquine – resistent was cultured in vitro according to Trager and Jensen (1976) methode. The results showed that the aquoeus extracts of serai leaves, lempuyang wangi rhizomes, and lempuyang pahit rhizomes inhibited the growth of Plasmodium falciparum 2300 chloroquine – resistent with the inhibition concentration (IC50) were 49.12 μg/mL, 47.44 μg/mL, 51.64 μg/mL respectively; whereas those ethanol extracts were 0.63 μg/mL, 0.98 μg/mL, 0.44 μg/mL. text
