Description
Summary:Population synthesis is one way to reproduce the distribution of stars at any time with determined parameters. To make the synthesis as realistic as possible we have to include more evolution parameters. The thesis worked on the population synthesis for cataclysmic variable star at post common envelope stage using stellar wind and the inclusion of horizontal branch. Separation of the system after common envelope stage will be analysed to find the appropriate method to calculate the separation. There are two different methods, one is using the CE parameter called alphaCE and the other is using gamma which is better to approximate the double white dwarf system according to Webbink (2007). Reimers stellar wind model is used with three different values of nR, which are nR = 0:0 (without wind), nR = 0:3 and nR = 0:5. Synthesis shows best result with small nR. The horizontal branch evolution for low mass star had succeeded to increase the count of system which survived the CE phase. But the comparison of the CE evolution with nCE and gamma could not show which one is best to approximate the CE evolution because both give different results.
