For offshore gas field wells, installation of Subsurface Safety Valve is very important in security and safety aspect on those wells. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Subsurface Safety Valve (SSSV) is a device installed in well below the seabed with the design function to prevent uncontrolled well flow when actuated. Depth determination of subsurface safety valve is very important in order to make sure if the subsurface safety valve can work at those depth. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> In gas well, gas velocity will increase along with pressures degradation along the tubing. That because gas is a compressible fluid which is the volume of gas will increase when pressures decrease. So that The gas velocity will grow from bottom up the well. Reynolds number is a constanta visualized the profile of fluid flow. This number influenced by parameters such as: density, viscousity, fluid velocity, and pipe diameter. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The paragraph above, shows that fluid velocity and Reynolds number are the parameters which determine the subsurface safety valve depth. Prediction of velocity and Reynold number could be done especially with the measurement of pressure and temperature profile from the bottom well. <br /> text
