To find alternative electrode for SO3(2-) and S2O3(2-) analysis, mercury film electrodes on copper wire is used in this study. Squarewave voltammetry technique is used in this research. It has been found that S2O3(2-) can not be detected in all conditions studied, therefore optimization was only conducted for SO3(2-). The optimum wire diameter is 2,5 mm. Relative standard deviation for repeated measurement of 10 ppm SO3(2-) solution in acetate buffer solution pH 4,51 is 8,91% (n=20). The calibration plot for SO3(2-) solution was linear over concentration range of 10-160 ppm with detection limit of 3,71 ppm. The percent recovery for SO3(2-) is between 93,76-106,18%, showing good accuracy. text |
