From this research, it is hoped to investigate the utilization of eichhornia crassipes and hydrilla verticillata as the pollutant adsorbent in a water contaminated by heavy metals, all together as one of the alternatives to solve environment pollution problems by the plants them selves. The experiment is carried out in the glass house made of plastics at the ITB chemical laboratory by using two growing media systems namely, flow system and constant system, respectively filled with 12,5% Hoagland-solution, added with 10 pp respective metals Pb, Cd, Ni, Sn Nand 75 ppb to mercury. The concentration of eichhornia and hydrilla in water media is controlled daily with the-same range of sampling. text
