Summary: | In port waterway of Tanjung Priok, sedimentation is formed every moment. Because of superficiality in seabed, port waterway doesn’t meet navigational requirement. Roles of hydrography hold in collecting data for dredging process. This survey aims to understand whether seabed has reached designed waterway depth and to calculate volume of soil to be dredged. This survey covers in positioning system with absolute positioning method, depth measurement with single beam method and water level. Surveys do in four phases: Check sounding before dredging, progress sounding during dredging and final sounding after dredging.

Analysis based on the amount of volume soil to be dredged in every spot (area) during dredging and risk analysis based on correctness effects of measurement for calculating volume soil to be dredged. Risk analysis can be affecting at profit or loss in expense of dredging.

In conclusion, safety navigation can be guaranteed by maintenance dredging. Hopefully, on the dredging work in the future should be consider the other observations, such as side scan sonar, soil sampling, and magnetometer in order to get more accurate results.
