ANALISIS HARMONIK KOMPONEN ARUS PASANG SURUT DENGAN METODE ADMIRALTY DAN METODE ANALISIS SPEKTRUM DI PULAU DERAWAN - KALIMANTAN TIMUR
Study on the analysis of harmonic tidal components was carried out using spectrum analysis and admiralty methods and tidal current data observed for 8-13 days at four different locations, i.e Derawan Passage I (using 2006's data), Derawan Passage II (using 2007's data), East Masimbung, and...

Harmonic analysis were done to investigate the existences of dominant tidal components. As an addition the pattern of ocean current at each locations were also analysed. In Derawan Passage (2006), the results of spectrum analysis method showed that the diurnal components were stronger than the semi-diurnal components. In the other way, the result of spectrum analysis method in Derawan Passage (2007) showed that the semi-diurnal components were stronger than the diurnal components. The difference between this two locations may happens due to their different position. In East Masimbung and West Masimbung, the results of spectrum analysis showed that the semidiurnal components were stronger than the diurnal components. The results obtained from spectrum analysis method were supported by the results from admiralty method, although in some locations the appeared components are different. From the two method used in this study, the admiralty method are more reliable than spectrum analysis method. The patterns of ocean current in Derawan Passage (location 1 and location 2) showed that the current direction is more dominant to the east. In East Masimbung the current direction is more dominant to the south, while in West Masimbung surface current and bottom current flow in opposite direction which may be caused by the bathimetry at this location. text |
