As the same plucking around applied through out the tea plant, the quality and quantity of tea often cannot be fulfilled. Therefore, one needs to consider the bud growth of each blocks to determine the plucking around schedule. <br /> <br /> <br /> Two steps are required to solve the above problem. The first step is to seek the period of plucking around and the pattern of decreasing in bud quality for each plantation block group, that is appropriate with high of location and pruning age. The regression method is applied to obtain the period of plucking around and the pattern of decreasing in bud quality. This pattern is, then, used to determine cost of decreasing in bud quality and cost of left bud at the plantation. <br /> <br /> <br /> The second step is to develop the plucking schedule using dynamic programming, which minimizes the total cost of plucking. This model is a modification from inventory-production dynamic model. We apply the transportation approach to obtain the optimal solution, since one of cost considered is convex. In addition to this, we also develop a rolling schedule, which schedule time interval is three days. <br /> <br /> <br /> Two important results of this thesis are as follows : (i) the proposed schedule gives a better total cost and (ii) the quality target is easier to achieve. <br /> text |
