ABSTRACT: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> An urban space should integrate. Integrated urban space is that if the elements inside functionally comprehensible links, physically in clear spatial order, and think boot of the importance historical, cultural and social values: Integration bt ngs infi lldevelopment into harmony with the predoru ina existing pattern. The urban center of Surakarta is look into that objective: to carry out idea of integration stressing on urban heritage achievement This appropriate to the land use planning that the urban center is for commercial, cultural and tourism zone. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The process of analysis uses description and exploration method. Description method is operated for procure integration condition of the urban center and role of the urban heritage. Determinant factors of the integration condition are norms, functions and physical structure of the urban center. The roles of urban heritage examine for its potency, contribution and opportunity driving integration of the urban center. Exploration method is operated for procure concept of integration of Surakanta urban center by supply-demand approach <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The output is that the urban center faces problem of disintegration It is because activities grow that follows by modern movement, privatization and commercialization of public space, and changing land use. The urban centers show traditional values separate with modern values so that connection between those values is needed. Economic interests dominate the urban center meanwhile social cultural interests eliminate so that collaboration in activity is needed. Organizing connections between the parts is not clear so that making directed structure spasial order and visual aesthetics is needed. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The concept of integrated 3urakarta urban center using urban heritage should be such as follows. Keraton Kasunanan sets as an orientation point of the urban center. Then, the urban center develops as tourism business district that links between social-cultural interest and commercial interest Land uses expropriate with the original settings responding to the human needs and unique elements of the context Neighborhood of Keraton Kasunanen develops as indigenous cultural center. Pasar Gede develops for traditional market Puro Manglraanegaran develops for culture development. Sriwedari develops for cultural sit J1. Slamet Riyadi, J1. Sudinman, J1. Urip sumoharjo and J1. Sudiarto connect those neighborhoods into a sequential and unified space.
