The determination of Lewis acid of Bayahs zeolite with 4-aminopyridine by spectrophotometry has been carrieed out. The ultraviolet absorption of 4-aminopyridin in methanol showed two peaks. The first peak has a wavelength number 247 mn with s = 12.384 mol-1.L.cm-1 caused by neutral 4-aminopyrodin and the second has a wavelength number 265 nm with s = 6.520 mol-1.L. cm-1. Bronsted acid side of Bayahs zeolite must be deleted by heating the zeolite at 600 degree C and stroraged it in the dry conditioned. The study result indicated that the acid Lewis of Bayahs zeolite is 3,67 mmol/g of Byahs zeolite. Infrared spectra of activated Bayahs zeolite and Bayahs zeolite after submerged in the 4-aminopyridin in methanol showed the change of peaks spectra at the wavelength number 1216 cm-1. In this case, it not found the new peak from Bayahs zeolite after submerged in the 4-aminopyridin. So the quantitative determination of acid of Bayahs zeolite by infrared spectroscopy could not be carried out in this research. |
