There are several objectives needs to achieve for this thesis. First, to identify the needs of services that required by the users. Second, to identifiy the business processes dan the current utilization of communication and information technology. Third, to make a integration proses model of information system with SOA. And fourth, to implement the result of integration desain architecture with a software module to integrate IS at University. By the development of information technology, applications and platform that used by departments and supporting unit at university become vary. Thus, this thing causes the providing and demanding for the data and information from each support unit at University needs to manage properly. Besides that, the vary of applications dan platform leads to incompatibility between data and information more increases and the cohesion between service become decreases. A design paradigm that called Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) can become the standard to design the integration of information system at University. SOA is a framework to integrating business process and support information technology infrastructure and standardized the services components that reusable and integrated according to business priority. SOA is loosely coupled, highly interoperable, reusable, and interoperability. Web Services is a software system that designed to support interoperable interaction between machine accros a network. Although the concepts that build SOA already exists before web services araise, web services has importants role in SOA. This thing cause of web services build on top of well knows protocols and has independent platform, like HTTP, XML, UDDI, and WSDL. SOA uses those protocols as key components because they provide services that can be found and used dynamically. SOA provides independent service that has interface contract which is represent by XML. SOA emphasizes at interoperability and this thing support by HTTP. Improvement and the implementation of technology make the complexity and the several of platform growing fast. SOA offers an architecture design for University to make integration to their information system. The benefits of SOA that accommodated by ICT give advantage to Universities to develop their business process. The existing information system and the services can develop dan integrated by SOA. SOA give solution to University to handle complexity of hardware and software platform, maintenance software, operator training, code reuse, and services development at University. Generally the steps for SOA implementation for a sistem divide into 3 phases: Initiate Develop Road Map, Implementation and Testing. Initiate phase decide the development team, objectives, schedule and deliverables. Develop Road Map phase will create Road Map to show the SOA requirements for University. Implementation and testing phase will describe how to implement the identified services and testing each service if they already meet the requirement and can be shared to other system. SOA Provides an abstraction model how an information system to build and the product and web services as technology that will manage how a sistem could interact and used by other application or information system. text |
