Description
Summary:The influence of strorage to the concentration exchange of Pb, Cr, Cu, and Zn solution in the demineralized water has been done. The concentration of the metal solution in demineralized water between 0.5-10 ppm with:

- the addition of the acid and the presentative

- the addition of the acid without the presentative or

- the addition of the presentative without the acid, was stored tightly in the glass bottle (soda lime) and plastics (polyethylene) bottle at room temperature for 1-2.5 months. At certain periods, 20 ml of the solutions is taken. Its absorbance is measured and compared to the absorbance of the standard solution. To Mmeasure the absorbance of the solution an Atomic Absorption pectrophotometer Shimadzu Model AA-630-12 is used at condition for each metal. The result showed that the addition of the acid and the preservative generally will increase the stability of these metal solution during storage. The addition of the acid without preservation or the addition of preservative without acid will shighty inorease the stability of the metal during storage solution during storage. The concentration exchange in metal solution of Pb and Cr with the addition of the acid and the preservative can be neglected. The concentration exchange in the metal solution of Cu and Zn with the addition of the acid and the preservative can not be neglected. The concentration is not proportional to the metal concentration in the solution. The decrease of concentration of this metal solution which is stored in a glass bottle is generally less than that in plastics bottle.
