Summary: | A method for trace analysis of chromium (VI) in textile sample has been developed. This method involved of extraction with acidic sweat solution pH 5.5, and preconcentration of chromium (VI) from the extract using nickel-ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (Ni-APDC) as complexing agent. Coprecipitate formed were separated by filtration using cellulose acetate membrane and then the used membrane was dissolved in concentrated nitric acid while heated. Chromium content in the solution was determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Preconcentration condition involving of pH of solution, amount of APDC, amount of nickel added, concentration level of chromium (VI) and influence of textile matrix were investigated. Using preconcentration factor was 10, 15 mg of APDC and 0.9 mg of nickel added to 100 mL of standard solution Cr(VI) 5 μg/L resulting recovery was 95 ± 1 %, variance coefficient 1.1 %. Detection limit based on 3 time of standard deviation of blank was 3.48 μg/L. Application the method in analysis of chromium(VI) content of textile fabric showed the yield that content of two dyed fabric samples were 2.65 mg/kg and 2.70 mg/kg fabric respectively, whereas chromium (VI) content in two commercial fabric samples were not detectable. |
