Description
Summary:Solid panel of Steel Plate Shear Walls analysis has been done in this thesis. Some variations of Steel Plate Shear Walls thickness (tw), Steel Plate Shear Walls material yield stress (Fy), area of horizontal boundary element (RBS vs Full Connection) and the influence of Steel Plate Shear Walls to frame resisting moment has been done numerically by using ANSYS. To learn about ductility, stiffness, cyclic load capacity and dissipation energy, analysis has been done by using cyclic and monotonic loading. The result from Bruneau an Vian experiment (2004) almost the same with the result from numerical analysis that we have had in this thesis. Variation of Steel Plate Shear Walls thickness is the parameter that influences the increase of dissipation energy. The low material yield stress of Steel Plate Shear Walls influences the increase of structure ductility. Dissipation energy increase by using Reduced Beam Section (RBS) than full connection system. <br />
