The parameters varied in the paste preparation were powder particle size, composition formula, drying and sintering temperature. Membranes were characterized by employing SEM to determine mean pore size, pycnometry to determine porosity and water flux measurement to determine the membrane characteristic transport properties. Results, indicate the mean pore size of as produced membrane was between 1.3 - 2.5 (myu)m with hydraulic permeability of between 181.9 - 303.2 L/m2. h atm and porosity of around 37.1 - 45.0 vol-% for roll forming processed samples and 1.8 - 2.1 (myu)m , 1054.7 - 3766.9 L/m2. h atm and 27.3 - 41.2 vol-% for slip casting processed ones. Membrane processed via slip casting can provide unsupported ceramic microfiltration membranes with better transport properties than those roll formed

text
