One of the methods to implement organizational strategy was by using a Strategic Information System (SIS), which is developed by using a Strategic Planning for Information System (SPIS) method. In this research it was identified four SPIS methods as stated by John Ward, Turban, James Martin, and Tozer that afterwards was combined into one package, was mentioned as One Stop Method, using guidelines from the United Kingdom Government - Central and Telecommunication Agency (CCTA) about SPIS methods to enable the establishment of a more reliable SIS. The research is done by identifying steps in the four SPIS methods related to internal and external factors, including the organizations Information System (IS) and Information Technology (IT). This is done according to the order of activities, similarities of activities between methods, the logical availability of SPIS activities according to CCTA guidelines, and further additions of applicable modules. Afterwards was carried out by synthesis process by through and detailed identification of the results that were received from the analysis stage until it becomes the One Stop Method SPIS (OSM-SPIS). The contribution from the research that was carried out is by producing one complete, structured, and applicable SPIS method. The Completeness, means that filled all the values of the variables recognized by the four SPIS methods that have been identified, also adding more values adjusted to the needs of IS/IT developers, and various other in-depth analyses. The Structured, means that OSM-SPIS provides a method, which is clearly ordered in every step of the SPIS process. The Applicable, means that OSM-SPIS is developed in order to be easily implemented, for apart from its completeness and structured development, OSM-SPIS also provides questionnaires and supporting tables that could be used easily. In summary, the result from the research indicates that, first of all, to manage information in an organization, it needs tools like the OSM-SPIS questionnaires for business needs and the organizations IS, along with its analysis methods. Using this questionnaires, the business plan, data of industrial competition, and main functional task for each division can be identified faster and easier. Secondly, business values identification in the OSM-SPIS is still general and not specific towards in industry certain. This was done to ease the development of OSM-SPIS overall in accordance to the SPIS method guidelines, CCTA, which states that a business value specification in the certain industrial kind could be developed after the general or overall business value is clear. text |
