Summary: | AQUATIC ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION IN LAKE CIBURUY AS RELATED TO THE FOOD SELECTIVITY OF TILAPIA MOSSAMBICA PETERS TILAPIA NILOTICA WEBER AND PUNTIUS BINOTATUS VALENCIENNES TOWARDS PLANKTON A study has been conducted to observe species compo - sition of plankton , and the preference of three species of fish, i.e. T. mossambica , T. nilotica and P. binotatus towards these plankton in lake Ciburuy , Padalarang . In this lake were found 37 genera of plankton , dominated by a species of filamentous Chlorophyta which showed a percentage range between 80.56% and 94.19% . The dominant zooplankton, Nauplius, ranged between 0.28% and 1.59% , followed by CycloDs gg. which ranged between 0.22% and 0. 53% . The number of plankton per liter of lake water on November 2 0 , 1985 averaged 12456 individuals.. An increase to 20459 individuals was recorded on December 17 , 1985 , and this figure further rose to 50117 individuals on January 15 , 1986 . Nearly all plankton found in the lake were also found in fishes\'gut , except Dysmorthococcus gE. CentroDyxis §P. and Ciliata gp. . Compared to Pediastrum, sp n. , Closterium sp. and Scenedesmus SOp. , the filamen - tous Chlorophyta which is found in abundance , proved to be the least prefered by the three species of fish . This was confirmed by the negative value of Electivity Index (E)for the filamentous Chlorophyta . Cyclopspp. , Nauplius and Diap hanosoma pp. are also not prefered by the fishes , as shown by their negative value of Electivity Indexes. |
